Also known as “Aunty Audrey,” Dr. Audrey Navarro Rawson is Board-Certified and a Diplomate with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry with years of experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry and early childhood education. As a mother to two girls, she believes in the importance of starting children out with a solid and positive dental foundation.
She was born in the Philippines, raised in Southern California and received her undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), making her a lifelong Bruin at heart. Before entering the dental field, Dr. Rawson worked as a preschool teacher and biology research assistant.
After completion of her dental graduate studies, Dr. Rawson completed a General Practice Residency at the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital where she provided comprehensive care focusing on prosthetics, oral surgery, and hospital dentistry with veterans and homeless patients. Her love for children and families motivated her to pursue additional years of specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry on the islands of Hawaii with the NYU Lutheran Medical Center (now known as NYU Langone). Dr. Rawson has experience in private practice, community health center, and hospital settings while living in Albuquerque, New Mexico and throughout the islands of Hawaii (mostly in Kona and Waianae, but also in various locations in Oahu and Maui). She also serves as the Associate Director and a faculty member for the NYU Langone Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry, Hawaii Site. She is directly involved in training future generations of pediatric dentists as they obtain their specialty education.
Dr. Rawson stays involved in the community via outreach programs, such as Aloha Medical Mission and she is currently the Chief of Dentistry at Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Honolulu.
Dr. Rawson credits much of her success with something close to home: her parents, her siblings, and her family. She is married to Christian Rawson, and they are proud parents to two adorable girls. In her time away from the office, Dr. Rawson enjoys snowboarding, water activities, and traveling to new global destinations with her family.
